Careers

Iron City Iron Works has spent over 10 years building a reputation for precision craftsmanship and dependable metalwork across Birmingham and the surrounding area. If you take pride in your trade, hold yourself to a high standard, and want welding employment with a team that does work worth standing behind, we want to hear from you. We are a licensed and insured operation with an A+ BBB rating, and we hold every member of our crew to the same level of care that has defined this company from the start.

This is a small, high-touch operation led directly by owner Lee that means less bureaucracy and more accountability. You will work on real projects, from custom fencing and entry gates to commercial structural repairs and precision metal fabrication. Our mobile welding capability takes the work on-site to clients across 20 Alabama municipalities, so no two days look exactly the same. We serve homeowners, property managers, commercial real estate owners, and construction contractors, and the work reflects that variety. If you thrive in a hands-on environment where quality is non-negotiable, this is the kind of team you are looking for.

We look for craftspeople who bring both technical skill and a professional attitude to the job. Experience with structural welding, custom fabrication, railing installation, fencing, and on-site mobile welding is highly valued. Familiarity with code-compliant railing systems and security ironwork is a plus. Because our work spans residential and commercial settings, the ability to communicate clearly with clients and contractors matters just as much as what you can do with a torch. Being licensed and insured is a core part of how we operate, and we expect the same commitment to professionalism from everyone on our crew.
